What are the ingredients in Nature's Avenger Organic?
The RTU is made up of water and 17.5% limonene. The remaining ingredients are proprietary non-toxic and safe surfactants to help dissolve the limonene in water.
Where does d-limonene come from?
When citrus is squeezed for juice, a layer of oil remains on top of the juice. The citrus rind is then squeezed further to remove any remaining oil in the citrus skin. That oil is citrus oil which contains primarily d-limonene.
How soon can pets and children go into sprayed areas?
As soon as the spray dries. Remember, as long as the weed remains wet children and pets may inadvertently transfer the product to desirable foliage and possibly affect that foliage. How fast will I see results?
Nature's Avenger Organic is very fast acting. Effects will be seen within one day, often within an hour.
What weeds are most responsive to Nature's Avenger Organic?
The active ingredient, d-limonene is a strong degreasing agent which essentially dissolves the waxy cuticle of the plant. Thus, plants with thinner cuticles are most responsive to Nature's Avenger Organic. Younger and smaller weeds that are growing quickly will be easier to kill than mature, hardened off weeds. Also, weeds in a humid environment will have thinner cuticles than those same plants in dry conditions.
Do other environmental conditions affect Nature's Avenger Organic quick results?
Yes! Nature's Avenger Organic works fastest in warm, humid conditions.
Does it have to be hot or sunny for the Nature's Avenger to work?
No! Whereas the "natural" acetic acid or soap products require warmth and sun, Nature's Avenger Organic will work under cool (down to 40 degrees F) and overcast conditions.
How does rain effect Nature's Avenger Organic?
Do not spray Nature's Avenger Organic in the rain or if rain is expected within one hour. The rain can wash the product off the plant leaf surface reducing the product's efficacy.
Does Nature's Avenger Organic kill the roots?
It depends on the depth of root system. Nature's Avenger Organic works by dissolving the weed's leaf cuticle which in turn dries the plant and kills it. If the weed has a shallow root system such as annual weeds, killing the tops can kill the roots. If the weed (for example, a perennial weed like a dandelion) has a deep tap root removing the top growth will not immediately kill the root. Additional applications may be necessary. Since all the plant's energy comes from the sun, eventually the root will die. In any case, whenever possible spray weeds when they are small.
How does it compare with Roundup®?
Roundup is made with a synthetic chemical called glyphosate. Natures' Avenger Organic is made with ingredients from nature. Roundup typically takes 7 to 14 days to get a response; Nature's Avenger Organic acts much faster. In other words, Nature's Avenger is organic a nd much faster acting.
Why is Nature's Avenger Organic more expensive than Roundup?
Roundup is a synthetic chemical that is made is huge quantities. The citrus oil and d-limonene must be grown.
What is the reentry interval after spraying?
For all non-agricultural situations (homeowner, landscaper, municipality, etc..), there is no reentry interval, but we recommend staying out until it's dried. It is a herbicide and we don't want to unintentionally spread Nature's Avenger to desirable plants.
For agricultural use, Nature's Avenger Organic has the minimum allowed re-entry interval which is 4 hours.
Is Nature Avenger Organic cleared by OMRI (Organic Materials Research Institute)?
YES! OMRI is an internationally known organization which is a clearing house for organic products. Even though Nature's Avenger Organic is recognized under the USDA NOP for organic use, organic farmers still require clearance by OMRI (or a comparable group).
