Greenhouse Accessories And Bulb Forcing

Want to force a whole bunch of bulbs at the same time? If you have a greenhouse you are in luck. While part of this process will take place outside the greenhouse, you will be able to use the greenhouse and greenhouse accessories to make the process successful.
You will need to make room in the greenhouse to grow your flowers and gather your greenhouse accessories together such as your potting bench, pots, soil scoop, trowel and soil.
The first stage of the process is dormancy or near dormancy.  You will not need light or the greenhouse for this step but some of your greenhouse accessories will come in handy. You will need pots and soil and a few tools.  Fill your pots 3/4 full with soil. Set the bulbs on top of the soil and add more soil around them. The tops of the bulbs do not need to be covered. Now the bulbs must be stored in a cool place such as a cellar, old refrigerator or garage for 3-4 months. The important thing to remember is that the temperature should be in the 38F-45F degree range. The soil must be kept moist and you can use your greenhouse watering accessories for this.
At the next stage pull the pots out of cold storage, watering them thoroughly, and move them into a cooler area of your home or greenhouse, around 55F-65F degree range.  Keep them cool until you see active growth. Once active growth begins, you can move the pots to a warmer area that receives more light. After a short amount of time you will have flowers! Use your greenhouse accessories to trim, water and cut as needed.
Ta Dah! Beautiful flowers!
